It is with great honour and excitement that the Africa Mundus International Institute/AMI, established in the 6th African Region Abroad, announces the upcoming launch of the Africa Mundus Continuum Caribbean, to be held in Curacao.

We officially announce that Ms. Pamela Gordon Carty Msc, born in Curacao, has been appointed as the Head of Africa Mundus Caribbean for the Polycentric Region. AMI is a reputable organization with a strong presence on the African continent and in the rest of the world for over two decades of existence. We participate in various events organized by international organizations, such as the Lomé IV Convention, CODESA/South Africa, Chatham House in London (2005); G8 Civil in Moscow (2006) and Berlin (2007); TICAD (2008); G-20 Civil in 2010, and others, such as UNESCO and IOM.

This event promises to be a memorable occasion that will not only showcase the rich diversity and potential of the African continent, but will also mark an important milestone in our expansion into the vibrant Caribbean region, which is part of our well-established network of over 35 focal points.

The Africa Mundus Continuum Caribbean is also dedicated to promoting Caribbean and African culture, traditional heritage and development worldwide, particularly through the money transfer sector, facilitating the emergence of new brands such as MoneyGram, PayPal and others, which helped end the Western Union monopoly at the 2006 G8 Civil Convention. This latest initiative was welcomed by renowned international figures, such as Nobel Laureates: Professors Wangari Mathai, Elinor Ostrom, Maryse Condé; His Excellency Dr. Kofi Annan, former Secretary General of the United Nations; also, by the Right Honourable: Nelson Mandela, former President of the Republic of South Africa, Lech Walesa, former President of Poland and Muhammad Yunus, current Right Honourable of the Government of Bangladesh. And to top it all off, His Holiness Pope Francis, Sovereign of the Vatican City State.

Fluent in several international languages, Ms. Gordon Carty’s commitment to promoting cultural exchange and understanding has not gone unnoticed. Her new role as the Caribbean Lead for Africa Mundus Continuum is a testament to her hard work and deep passion as she takes the helm. With a wealth of experience in promoting unity and cooperation between Africa Mundus Continuum’s Caribbean neighbors and the rest of the world, she will also promote the principle we have called “NegroEvolution.” 1 This principle also seeks to protect the younger generations, promote and support economic partnership and societal development of Black descendants and collaterals worldwide, which is clearly evident in her past work.

In shaping the future of our Caribbean Continuum, as we embark on this exciting new chapter, we will also focus on promoting food security through agribusiness, business, trade and cooperation in Caribbean-Africa trade and partnerships, including skills, combating marine pollution such as Sargassum seaweed, and the ongoing cost of living crisis in the region. As things stand, the cost of basic necessities such as energy and food is rising much faster than the average household income. All of these are priorities for Africa Mundus as it focuses on solutions that are uniquely tailored to the Caribbean Continuum.

Led by the AMI Network, as part of NegroEvolution, in a spirit of collaboration, the Continuum is also about sharing a rich history of cultural exchange through many similarities in terms of heritage, music and traditions.
